Friendship is very important for your mental health and important to your quality of life.  As we grow as people, we all come to value many things from people that are present in our lives.  We want to  create a strong bond and a very healthy and happy relationship with those we call friends.

When you start creating a friendship, you are going to have to learn that there are going to be disagreements but that is how you learn to communicate. Communication is the key to a good friendship because it allows you to discuss and learn more about each other. The more you know a person, the better you can build a relationship.

When entering a new friendship both people should learn to be there for each other, to be supportive, non-toxic, loyal, and respectful.  Friends are reliable. This means you trust to be there for each other, and show support during the good and bad times.  Listening and being respectful are other qualities  friendships should have. You have to respect people for who they are and what they believe in.  Being trustworthy is one of the very important traits in a friend. You can depend on each other when it comes to needing someone to talk to.

The true value of friendship lies in being present for each other.
